And in line with its commitment to showcasing the creative abilities of the Nigerian child, Indomie Fan Club (IFC), Nigeria’s largest children based fan club, recently held a creative exhibition tagged: ‘Team Yourself Up’, where kids stand a chance of winning
a wide range of fantastic prizes.
The exhibition, which is in its 4th edition, was aimed at celebrating the creative works of children who sent in entries. The children were required to team up with any person of their choice to create something ‘unique’ using empty Indomie noodles wrappers, cartons or both. The ‘Team Yourself Up’ competition also allowed participants to send in multiple entries before the deadline for submissions which was the 25th of September 2019.
Prizes earmarked for the competition which recorded over 40,000 entries include gifts for all IFC participants, a grand prize of an all-expense-paid trip to Dubai with a loved one, a sum of N100,000 for the first placed winner, N75,000 to the first runner up and N50,000 to the second runner up. The best creative works of art from Lagos, Ogun, and Abuja will also win N35,000 each, while there are lots of other consolation prizes.
Speaking during the exhibition, Indomie Fan Club National Coordinator, Mrs. Faith Joshua, stated that the exhibition served as a platform to stimulate and expose the creativity in the children and promote a recycling culture in them. According to Joshua, the competition is one of the many ways through which the brand, Indomie engages with thousands of kids to provide them an opportunity to express their creative talents and abilities. It is also geared towards strengthening the bond between the children and their loved ones. She said: “The exhibition is an avenue to showcase the creative abilities of the children and also bring out the best in them. We received over 40,000 entries within 3 months and at the end of the final selection process, the top three entries will be rewarded with cash prizes while a lot of consolation prizes will also be given out. The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip to Dubai for the winner and a loved one”.
The Group Public Relations and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, stated that Indomie is a child-centric brand and will continue to support causes and initiatives that help their mental and physical development and ensure they are happy. To Ashiwaju, the exhibition is one of the many ways the brand engages with children. According to him, “Children are the future of any society and as a responsible brand, we see it as part of our duties to ensure that they are engaged in activities that nurture their development. The aim of the ‘Team Yourself Up’ competition is to provide a platform for these kids to express their creative talents. For us, we just want the kids to be themselves with their amazing creative minds. Think of something, build it and it becomes art”.
The Indomie Fan Club is an initiative of Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Nigeria’s number 1 noodles brand – Indomie Instant Noodles. The club was founded in 2005 with the aim of creating an environment of learning, fun, excitement, and bonding for children aged 5 – 12. The club has well over 200,000 members spread across different parts of Nigeria.
